Help
The most common questions we get about using JaipurLifes, organized by what you're actually trying to do. If your question isn't here, our Contact page will get you a direct answer.
Do I need an account to use JaipurLifes?
No — browsing the directory, reading place details, checking events, and reading news don't require an account. You'll need one to save places, write reviews, build itineraries, claim a business, or post in the community section.
How do I create an account?
Use the Sign Up page and either create an account with your email and a password, or continue with Google. Both are treated as full accounts with the same features — the only difference is how you sign in.
I signed up with email, can I also use Google sign-in later?
Sign-in methods are tied to the specific email address on the account. If you want to switch, contact us and we can help sort out the account rather than risk creating a duplicate.
Is JaipurLifes free to use?
Yes, browsing and every core feature — saving places, writing reviews, using the AI concierge, generating itineraries — is free. Business listings are also free to claim; certain optional promotional features for businesses may exist alongside the free tier.
Where does the place information come from?
Most base listings — name, address, coordinates, category — come from OpenStreetMap, an open geographic database maintained by contributors worldwide. Once a business owner claims their listing, they can add and correct details directly, which is generally the most accurate source once available.
I found incorrect information on a listing — how do I report it?
Every place page has a "Report incorrect information" option. If you're the business owner, claiming the listing lets you fix it directly and permanently rather than relying on someone else reporting it each time it drifts out of date.
Why don't some places have photos, or have generic-looking photos?
We source real, licensed photography (Wikimedia Commons, Pexels) for listings without owner-submitted images, but coverage isn't complete for every one of hundreds of listings — smaller or lesser-known places are the most likely to still be missing a photo. Once a business owner claims their listing, they can upload real photos of their own place directly.
Can I suggest a new place that isn't listed yet?
Yes — if a business isn't in the directory yet, go to Business → Claim your listing, search for it, and if it doesn't come up, you'll see an option to add it as a new listing. New submissions go through a review step before they're published, the same as any other business claim.
How do I write a review?
Go to any place's page while signed in — you'll see a review form directly on the page unless you've already reviewed that place. Reviews require a star rating and at least a few sentences of actual content.
Why isn't my review showing up yet?
New reviews go through moderation before they're publicly visible, which typically takes a short while. This exists to keep obviously fake, abusive, or spam reviews off the platform — it's not a delay specific to your account.
Can I review the same place twice?
No — one review per person per place. If your experience changes significantly, contact us and we can look at updating or removing an existing review rather than allowing duplicates.
Can a business owner respond to a review?
Yes, once a business is claimed, the owner can respond to reviews directly from their dashboard.
How do I claim my business?
Go to /business/claim, search for your business by name or address, and select it to start the claim. You'll need to briefly explain your connection to the business (owner, manager, etc.) — our team reviews every claim before approving it.
How long does a claim take to review?
Most claims are reviewed within a few days. We check that the person claiming a listing is genuinely connected to it, which is what keeps the directory free of fraudulent claims.
What can I do once my claim is approved?
Edit your description, address, phone, hours, and amenities; upload your own photos; post time-limited offers; submit events tied to your business; and respond to customer reviews — all from your business dashboard.
My claim was rejected — what now?
You'll see the specific reason on your dashboard. Most rejections come down to insufficient proof of your connection to the business — you can resubmit with clearer information addressing that reason.
Do events I submit go live immediately?
No, submitted events go through the same review-before-publish process as new business listings and reviews, so the events calendar stays free of spam or duplicate listings.
How does "Ask JaipurLifes" work?
It's an AI concierge that answers questions about Jaipur grounded in our own verified place and event data — not a general-purpose chatbot inventing answers from nowhere. It runs on a model we host ourselves rather than a third-party AI service.
Can the concierge recommend places that aren't accurate?
It's designed to stay grounded in real listings, but like any automated system it can occasionally misinterpret a question or give an incomplete answer. Treat it as a fast starting point, and check specific details (hours, exact address) on the actual place page before you go.
How does the itinerary generator work?
Tell it your mood, time available, and budget, and it builds a day plan pulling from real places and events already on the platform, rather than inventing a schedule from general knowledge. Generated itineraries get a shareable link.
How current is the events calendar?
Events come from a mix of business submissions and live external sources that refresh regularly, so the calendar reflects what's genuinely happening soon rather than a static list. Always double check the exact time and venue for anything you're planning around, since event details can change on the organizer's side after listing.
Where does the news section get its content?
We aggregate current Jaipur and Rajasthan coverage from established news sources, filtered specifically for local relevance. It's a feed of existing journalism, not original reporting written by JaipurLifes.
What are Offers, and are they trustworthy?
Offers are time-limited deals posted either directly by claimed businesses or sourced from partner listings. Business-posted offers are tied to a verified, claimed business account, so they carry the same accountability as the rest of that business's listing.
How do I delete my account?
Contact us and we'll process the request. We don't currently have automatic self-service deletion, but every request is handled directly and promptly — see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data afterward.
Does JaipurLifes sell my data?
No. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy, but the short answer is we don't sell personal data to third parties or use it for targeted advertising.
I'm suspended — why, and can I appeal?
Accounts get suspended for violating our Terms of Service — most commonly fake reviews, fraudulent business claims, or abusive content. Contact us if you believe a suspension was made in error and we'll review it.
Still stuck? See our Contact page for the fastest way to reach the right person, or read our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for the full detail behind some of these answers.
