Chand Baori in Abhaneri, about 93km (2 hours) from Jaipur, is one of India's largest and deepest stepwells — 3,500 steps across 13 levels in a precise geometric pattern, built between the 8th and 9th centuries by the Chauhan dynasty. Entry is free, it's open sunrise to sunset, and the adjoining Harshat Mata Temple can be seen on the same visit.
